In the series honey, Costanza Brandizzi examines gendered expectations surrounding clothing, starting with one of the most intimate garments: underwear. Through a performative approach aligned with the ideas of “doing” and “undoing gender,” they use their own body as a starting point to challenge the supposedly clear-cut association of thongs and boxer shorts. In doing so, Brandizzi deliberately plays with – and disrupts – prevailing social norms and expectations.
