We absorb what society teaches us about sexiness – “the quality of being sexually exciting” and learn to perform it, becoming a projection screen for the internalised gaze of others, often without exploring what our own understanding of sexy is. By relating “sexually exciting” to our own experience of fun and sensuality, rather than to our effect on others, this work explores sexiness and sensuality within the context of a friendship, free from the pressure to be desirable to one’s counterpart.
