In The Hanging, the artist explores self-transformation and fluid identity through a looping performance. The performer, initially dressed as a clown, simulates hanging from a bar, symbolizing the shedding of one identity. After disrobing, he adopts a woman’s costume and repeats the act, embodying an ongoing cycle of identity shifts. Oscillating between playfulness and seriousness, the video raises questions about self-definition, the roles we construct, and the destruction of the self.
