After rigorously analyzing “lesbian” films from different parts of the world, unfortunately most of which were not directed or acted by lesbians, I wonder: why do lesbians end up dead in all these “lesbian” films?
Why not showing us as a lesbians alive, happy?
Cinema produces imaginaries of identity, and I don’t see myself represented in those films.
Even if someone tries to kill us in a lesbian-phobic attack in an attempt to take away our lesbianism, we lesbians will continue to be a lesbians.
